About Zac Barnett
Chicago-based attorney Zac Barnett is the co-founder of Fund Finance Partners, LLC (“FFP”), an independent fund finance debt advisory firm with offices in Chicago and Charlotte. FFP serves private equity fund sponsors in varying asset classes by helping them achieve optimum fund and sponsor level financing solutions.
He has guided global practice groups in areas from fund finance to commercial lending. His work as an attorney focuses on private equity, private credit and real estate, and he has represented lenders and borrowers in navigating subscription facilities and other investment pathways. Zac Barnett’s areas of expertise extend to the energy, infrastructure, and hedge fund spheres, and he emphasizes creative ways of generating deals.
Mr. Barnett has achieved consistent results as a lawyer since the early 2000s, driven by an in-depth understanding of the laws and regulations that underpin investment funds. He has led processes that resulted in some of the largest financing transactions ever completed in the funds arena, leading over 500 fund finance transactions with lender commitments totaling approximately $250 billion.
Mr. Barnett maintains a high-profile presence in the private equity fund finance sphere. He has authored more than 40 articles on various products and the rules and regulations that provide a structural framework, and his work has been cited in a number of prominent publications, from the Los Angeles Times to Bloomberg.
